Solar panels (or Solar PV) that generate clean, green energy are increasingly being fitted to ordinary household roofs. Solar PV systems convert energy from the sun into electricity (the PV stands for ‘photovoltaic’, meaning it produces current from light), and are an effortless way to save you money by harvesting and selling this free electricity. The electricity they produce is of course green, renewable energy, and harvesting it doesn't release any harmful carbon dioxide or other pollutants.

You can sell the excess energy you generate automatically, at favourable rates, and all you need is a south-facing, relatively unshaded roof. The system will cover its own costs in electricity in a matter of years — since every installation varies in size and capacity, we’ll need to confirm your precise cost once we’ve assessed your property.

Our supplier Hyundai is a world leader in the design and manufacture of solar panels. In fact, these PV panels have been so thoroughly tested and proven under harsh conditions that they offer warranties from 10-25 years. We’ll also assess your home free of charge to ensure it’s suitable, and that your roof can take the additional weight of the panels.

Although the technology is advanced, solar PV systems are relatively simple to set up and look after. Their main components are the actual panels, which require very little maintenance. You’ll just need to make sure trees don't begin to overshadow them or that anything else obscures them.

A typical home solar PV system could save over a tonne and a half of carbon dioxide per year. That’s more than 30 tonnes over its lifetime — a real contribution to the environment, and one that could pay for itself many times over in savings for your home.

(Please note, our expected price is based on an average property, is given in its after discount state and includes the product and installation).
